Jenna McGlin, Calumet County's 2009 Fairest of the Fair, was a top-ten finalist for the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair Competition. Natalie Salkowski of Ozaukee County was selected as the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs for 2010. She will spend the next year serving as the ambassador for Wisconsin’s 76 county, district and state fairs and the official hostess for the 2010 Wisconsin State Fairs, August 5-15. The Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs is selected from County and District Fairest of the Fairs across Wisconsin that compete based on speaking ability, maturity and professionalism, personality and attitude, poise and appearance, involvement and activities and overall impression. The competition spans four days and includes a series of interview, workshops, and impromptu questions evaluated by a selection panel of industry professionals. The selection process was held in conjunction with the 2010 Wisconsin Association of the Fair Convention held January 10 to 13, 2010 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. This year’s contest had 39 contestants. While serving as Wisconsin’s Fairest of the Fairs, Natalie will make appearances, conduct promotions, work with media and travel to fairs to promote the educational, social and economical importance of Wisconsin’s Fair Industry. She also attends numerous community and regional events striving to increase participation in and attendance to all of Wisconsin’s Fairs. Applications for the Calumet County Fairest of the Fair and Jr. Fairest of the Fair for 2010 are now available at www.calumetcountyfair.com or by contacting Deb Stebane at 920-850-6826. |
