City of Chilton residents now have the ability to pay their water and sewer utility bill and taxes on-line or by phone with a credit or debit card. Residents can go to www.officialpayments.com or call 1-800-272-9829. Residents can pay their water and sewer or tax bill using Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express credit card or a debit card on the Visa, Star, Pulse or NYCE network. Here are the basic steps for making an online payment: · Go to www.officialpayments.com · Click on “Local Payments” · Enter jurisdiction code: 6804 and click Enter · Select a payment Type (Taxes or Utility) · Click on the “Make a Payment” button · Enter Payment Amount · Select “Continue” · Confirm payment amount, convenience fee, and total · Review the Terms and Conditions then click "Accept" to proceed · Complete the form with payment information (Note that the [ * ] fields are required) · Select “Continue” · You will receive confirmation that your payment has been completed successfully. Print a copy of the confirmation. If printer is not available, write down the confirmation number and keep it with your records. There is a fee for using this process. It is $4.95 per utility payment and 2.75% of the total amount for taxes. Additionally, utility payments are capped at $200. If your bill is above $200, you will need to make two on-line payments to pay the amount. Credit card payments will not be accepted at City Hall. All payments must be done on-line or by phone.
