Rebecca Petersen has been named the new Director of the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System. Ms. Petersen who recently served as School Library Media Specialist for the Valders Area School District, will assume her position mid-March. Cheryl Kjelstrup, President of the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System Board of Trustees shares, “After five months of searching, the MCLS Board of Trustees is happy to welcome Becky as our director. We feel that she will bring experience, intelligence, energy, and enthusiasm to the position.” Ms. Petersen holds a B.A. in History from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and a Master of Library Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She began her library career at the University of Wisconsin’s Polk Library and worked at the University of Wisconsin’s Children’s Cooperative Book Center. Ms. Petersen is currently a school media specialist for both the middle and high schools at the C.E. Bray Library in the Valders Area School District. |
