At the June 4, 2009 meeting of the Chilton American Legion Auxiliary, it was reported that the poppy contributions in the month of May were great. This was made possible by the generous donations from residents of the area, who showed that they haven't forgotten their veterans. This is a very good thing, as there will be many more veterans in the future years. A special thank you is to be given to those contributing and to the business people , for allowing Legion and Auxiliary members to distribute the poppy for a donation at their sites. A book entitled "Trailing West", by Louis L'Armour has been placed in the Chilton Public Library in memory of Helmuth (Nick) Nicolay, who is a recently deceased Chilton Legion member.
