The Ebenezer United Church of Christ Sunday School students recently completed their mission project for the 2008-09 school year.
This year the project selected was to collect items to send to the troops overseas. This was prompted by the fact that church member Ryan Ninedorf was deployed to Afghanistan during this past year. The students and congregation collected two boxes full of goods such as candy, snacks, playing cards, books, health and beauty items, telephone calling cards and more. Ryan returned home to the states after the fIrst of the year, but the mission project continued, and three more boxes of items were collected$l before it was completed. These boxes were sent to Iraq to Torrey Gasch and his unit. Torrey is also a member of Ebenezer and the son of Vem and Ann Gasch. The Christian Education department has, in the past, chosen the Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, The Heifer Project, and the Calumet County Bread of Life Food Pantry as recipients of their mission project. Ebenezer's Sunday School is open to all students from age 3 through 8th grade. Sunday School takes a summer vacation and will begin again on September 13. For information about enrolling your child you can call the church office at 849-4331. |
