The Ladies Bridge Marathon, consisting of 11 couples from the Chilton and Stockbridge area, recently completed its 2008-2009 season with a bridge party preceded by a luncheon at the Central House in Chilton. Each year the group donates its proceeds to a worthy cause in the area. This year, 92-year-old Alice Kinley, an active member of the Bridge Club for over 35 years, presented a check in the amount of $350.00 to Dawn Butler of Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs, which has an Office located in Chilton. High Scores for the Marathon were: Jackie Schaefer/Donna Mortimer - 68,200; Virginia Bastian/Peggy Hemauer - 64,230; Florence SchlaeferlSandra Sturm - 63,100; Ruth Rolli Stella Nicolay - 56,270; Mary Thompson/Louise Mittnacht - 55,600. High scores for the final party play of 18 hands were Alice Kinley - 3,700; Phyllis Franz - 3,040; Sandra Sturm - 2,900. Anyone interested in playing in the Marathon this fall or wanting more information may contact Donna Mortimer at 849-4046 or any other member of the club. |
