The Friends of the Chilton Library will be meeting on Monday November 30th at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome. We will be finalizing our plans for Shopping With Santa which will be held on Sunday December 6th from 9 to 12:30. This is a great opportunity for kids to do their Christmas shopping. We have gifts for everyone including dogs and cats. All gifts are $2. wrapped and tagged. A big thank you to those who have donated items for this project. We still could use more items, but they must be new or homemade. Santa will be here the entire time. He will be handing out goody bags for the kids. Our ongoing booksale is held in our meeting room. The public is invited to check it out. The only time the sale isn't on is when there is a meeting going on in the room. Items are very reasonably priced with most paperbacks 25 cents and hardcover books 50 cents. We still have tickets for author Rochelle Pennington's presentation on Tuesday November 24th at 7:00 p.m. Featuring: "An Old-fashioned Christmas: Tinsel, Gingerbread men & Billie-the-Brownie". The program is free but you must have a ticket. This program is being sponsored by the M & I Bank. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Chilton Public Library. We will be open the day after Thanksgiving, but closed Thanksgiving Day. If you want the latest bestseller, please place a hold. Our staff is eager to show you how to do it. The library does have a colored copy machine and also a fax machine where you can send as well as receive. We charge 15 cents for black and white copies and 50 cents for colored copies. As far as sending a fax, the charge is $1 per page and 10 cents a page to receive. The Chilton and Manitowoc Libraries are the only libraries in the system that are open on Sundays. We have found that Saturdays and Sundays are very popular with our patrons. Library Hours: Monday to Thursday 10 to 8 p.m., Fridays 10 to 6 p.m. and Sundays 12 to 3 p.m. |
