The Walgreens at Calumet and Chestnut streets in Chilton opened at 8 a.m. Wednesday. “We’re excited about bringing Walgreens to Chilton,” said manager Scott Cunde. “We’ve hired an outstanding staff whose focus will be delivering exceptional customer service to this community. We believe customers will appreciate the level of convenience they’ll find in features like our drive-thru pharmacy, automatic prescription refills and nationwide network of pharmacies.” ![]() The new Walgreens will carry thousands of everyday essentials, including medications, health and beauty aids, toiletries, designer fragrances, greeting cards, small electronics, housewares, soft drinks, dairy products, frozen foods and snacks. Walgreens advanced pharmacy system links all its pharmacies, making it possible for Chilton patients to refill prescriptions at any of the thousands of Walgreens across the country. Walgreens customers can also take advantage of Auto Prefills, a service that marks monthly medications to be refilled automatically, then calls or sends an e-mail to remind you the prescription is ready for pickup. Walgreens is the only pharmacy that offers pharmacist counseling and prescription labels in 14 languages and large-type drug information sheets for the visually impaired. Chilton patients also will be able to take advantage of Walgreens Prescription Savings Club program, which offers more than 400 generics for $12 for a 90-day supply. The program, which also offers deep discounts on more than 5,000 brand name and generic medications, could help improve the health care of residents who don’t have health insurance or those who take medications not covered under their plan. “This store will continue the tradition of trust that has guided Walgreens for 108 years,” Cunde said. “We are committed to providing the most convenient access to high quality pharmacy services and basic needs.” Walgreens will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday. Pharmacy hours will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain, with 7,162 stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. For more information, visit Walgreens.com. |
