The Damon Runyon-inspired musical Guys & Dolls presented by Calumet County Community Theatre opens Friday at the Engler Center in Chilton High School. The show runs July 16-17 at 7 p.m., July 18 at 2 p.m. and July 22-24 at 7 p.m. Guys and Dolls was the hit of Broadway in 1950, winning five Tony Awards. Based on the New York characters created by newsman andshort story writer Damon Runyon, the musical features “Luck Be A Lady,” a song that later came to be associated with Frank Sinatra after he apeared in the 1955 film as Nathan Detroit to Marlon Brando’s Sky Masterson.
The Calumet County Community Theatre production of the show promises a full night of song, dance and comedy.
The production is directed by Kyle Pingel.Gail Dedering is the vocal director and Shawn Postell is the music director.
