A Brillion couple was involved in a traffic incident near New Holstein last week. According to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department, 66-year-old Ronald Schwanke was traveling northbound on Hwy. 57 near Fur Farm Rd. when his vehicle struck a semi-trailer attempting to make a U-turn in the intersection. Schwanke and his wife, 58-year-old Bernadette Schwanke, had to be removed from their vehicle by the New Holstein JAWS of Life team. They were taken to Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. Bernadette Schwanke was transported later to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton. The operator of the semi-trailer, 33-year-old Nino Bubas of Sheboygan was not injured in the crash. The crash is still under investigation. |
