Dale G. Gilbertson, 69, of 1418 S. 22nd Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wis. He was born on Nov. 16, 1940, in Fond du Lac, son of the late Gordon and Delores (Krautkramer) Gilbertson. Dale graduated from Brillion High School. On Sept. 18, 1999, he married the former Beverly Schneider at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Dale was employed with several different trucking companies for more than 35 years, including Chizek Transportation, which he retired from after 23 years of service. Survivors include his wife: Beverly Gilbertson, Manitowoc; a son: Dan Gilbertson, Denver, Colo.; two stepsons: Bruce (Kathy) Schneider, Sheboygan, Brian Schneider, Brillion, two stepdaughters: Teresa (Rodney) Fish, Two Rivers, Tammy (Jeff) Korte, Manitowoc; 12 stepgrandchildren: Jenny, Susan, Travis, Amy Jo, Mark, Nic, Adam, Paul, Mallory, Matthew, Amber and Lindsay; nine step great-grandchildren: two brothers: Dennis (Mary) Gilbertson, Sulpher Springs, Texas, Gary (Joy) Gilbertson, Brillion; two special friends: Abel and Dick; along with his two dogs: Kessley and Sammie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dale was also preceded in death by his first wife: Diane (Sauer) Gilbertson on July 13, 1992. Funeral Services were held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Richard Runge. Cremation occured after the service at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and burial of the cremated remains will be at St. Luke Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chilton, at a later date. The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
