Bernice V. Schuessler, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna.
She was born on July 20, 1916 in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, raised in Hilbert, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Olson) Jost.   Bernice resided in Neenah/Menasha area for most of her life.  She worked as a caregiver, and enjoyed quilting, painting, and gardening.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Bonnie (Ronald) Diemel, Appleton; her son, Richard (Corrine) Schuessler, Hilbert; grandchildren: Pam (Bill) Hankwitz, Rocky (Beth) Joas, Cheri (Tim) Miller, Ron (Melanie) Diemel, Jr., Cindy (Dan Hansen) Diemel, Tara and Ryan Schuessler; great-grandchildren: Aldon and Parker Lehmann; Ron Diemel, III, Lindsey Diemel, Mason and Madisyn Hansen; daughters-in-law: Bobbie Simon, and Betty Casperson; best friends: Leona Smith and Ann Ehnerd.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: Kenneth and Donald Joas; sisters: Florence Eldred, Gertrude Eilertson, Diane Prusynski; brothers: Lawrence, Edward, and Jerome Jost.

Funeral service for Bernice will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. at Menasha’s Westgor Funeral Home with Deacon Maury Reed officiating.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Menasha Senior Center’s Quilter’s Group in Bernice’s name.
