Neale James “Neil” Olson, age 75, of Stockbridge died peacefully at his home on February 28, 2010. .jpg) He was born December 1, 1934, son of the late Maurice “Mickey” and Lucille (Dorn) Olson. Neil graduated from Hilbert High School in 1952 and served his country in the United States Marine Corp beginning in 1953, during which time he also served in Korea. He was married February 11, 1956 to Mary Ann Halbach at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. Neil worked for 20 years at Rueping Leather in Fond du Lac and also worked 20 years at American Breeders Services. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge and the Stockbridge American Legion. Neil was a gentle man with a big heart. Besides his love for Annie, his greatest joy in life was watching his children, grandchildren, and now Owen grow in life. He was an excellent role model for all of us. Neil enjoyed hunting, fishing, card playing with his family and friends and taking trips to the casino. Neil will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife: Mary Ann; 2 children: Kevin Olson, Brian (Brenda) Olson; 4 grandchildren: Eric (Nikki) Olson, Dan, Laura & Scott Olson; 1 great-grandchild: Owen Neale; his brothers and sisters: Genny (Don) Brown of Merced, CA, Rosie (Don) Willmas of St. Nazianz, Michael Wayne (Bev) Olson of Sherwood, Carol Michiels of Marinette, Jo (Greg) Redlin of Sherwood, Skip (Janice) Olson of Hilbert, Keith (Kay) Olson of Hilbert, Chris (Rick) Nagan of Greenleaf; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joyce Halbach of St. John, Don Halbach of Kaukauna, Audrey Mader of Sherwood, Al “Crash” Halbach of Sheboygan, Jeanette Ott of Forest Junction, Eugene “Smokey” Halbach of Universal City, TX, Rosemary (Norbert) Propson of Chilton, Sr. Margaret Mary of Brillion, Ray (Marilyn) Halbach of Sherwood; and his aunts & uncles: Louis & Genny Dorn of DePere; LaVonna Olson of Neenah, & Marlyn Dorn of Hilbert; He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law: Ray & Mayme Halbach; a son: Kevin Olson; a brother: Kim Olson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mike Michiels, Bill Halbach, Lucille & Adrian Mader, Ethel Halbach, Mert Halbach, Leo Ott, Joan Halbach, Jerry Halbach, and James Halbach. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:45 AM on Thursday, March 4, 2010. The family would like to thank all those who remembered Neil in prayer and visited him faithfully. Also, thanks to his hospice nurse, Chris, for all the wonderful care given to Neil during his illness, and a special thank you to Father Philip for all of the love, support and prayer.
