Obituary: Roman Nicholas Diedrich PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:00
Roman Nicholas Diedrich, age 94, of Stockbridge, died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
He was born January 8, 1916, son of the late Christ & Elizabeth (Franzen) Diedrich.  God gave to Roman the gift of Doris Lau, and they were married on July 7, 1962 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge.  Earlier in his life, Roman first worked for farmers in the Charlesburg area before he moved back home to help his father on the family homestead in the Town of Stockbridge.  He continued to farm throughout his life, until he retired in 1981.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, the Senior Citizen’s Meal Site, and began volunteering at the Salvatorian Center in November of 1998.  Roman was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed the outdoors and activities such as fishing, sturgeon spearing, and gardening.  His love of farming came second only to his love of Doris, but stayed with him his whole life.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife: Doris; his sisters: Catherine Baltz of Fond du Lac, Clara (Francis) Biehl of Menominee Falls; a brother: Norbert of California; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Joseph & Francis; 6 sisters: Helen (Glen) Dimmick, Gertrude (Harold) Goedde, Mary (Bob) Schmidt, Elizabeth (Ervin) Czubinski, Sister Roman Diedrich, Sister Virgilia Diedrich, a brother-in-law: Milo Baltz.

Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating.  Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 3:00 PM until 5:45 PM on Friday, March 12, 2010.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tipler, and Dr. Hildebrand for all of the wonderful, loving care they provided to Roman.
