 Marion R. Buechel, 80, a resident of the St. Francis Terrace in Fond du Lac and formerly of the Calumetville area died late Sunday evening, June 27, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. The former Marion Wirtz was born January 26, 1930 in Mount Calvary to the late Herman J. & Regina C. Brenner Wirtz. She attended Holy CrossGrade School and graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac. On September 12, 1950 she married Ambrose J. Buechel at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. Marion worked in the office at Mercury Marine until her retirement where she developed many life long friendships that continued to be in contact with her through their love and support until the very end. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg and the Catholic Knights Society. Marion was formerly a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho and the church’s Christian Mothers Society. Marion enjoyed cooking, playing Dominos, listening to Big Band era music and traveling when she and her husband could. She was a devoted and very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marion touched many lives. No matter how bad things were, she always had a smile and never complained. She is survived by her husband, Ambrose, who resides at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac; her two children, Marilyn (Jim) Juckem of Chilton and Jim (Karen) Buechel of Malone; five grandchildren, John (Kate) Juckem, Mary Juckem, David Juckem, Kevin Buechel and Kelly Buechel and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joseph Juckem. Marion was preceded in death by her dear parents, Herman & Regina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church N9288 County Road W Fond du Lac “Johnsburg”. Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Jericho. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Ave. in New Holstein on Wednesday June 30th from 4-8 PM and at St. JohnChurch on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of services. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:45 PM. Marion’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the outpouring of cards, phone calls, visits and love & support shown to Marionespecially during her illness.
