Sam was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Appleton, the son of the late Katherine (Hearden) & Joseph Wolf.  On June 14, 1952, Sam married Carol Winkenwerder. They resided in Appleton and later moved to the lake. Carol preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 1985. On Feb. 27, 2001, Sam married Carole Westenberger. In early years, he worked for Nash Kelvinator in Kenosha, and later went on to work for Valley Ready Mixed Concrete Company, which after 40 years of service is where he retired. Sam was a member of St. Mary Stockbridge Parish. He was an avid fisherman, with the nickname “Spoonplug Sam.” He loved the beauty of the lake, bird watching, visiting with neighbors & friends, playing Mexican train dominos, telling jokes that made many laugh, and spending time with and watching his six grandchildren grow, which he loved dearly. Most importantly, he loved Carole who he spent 22 wonderful years with. Sam is survived by his wife, Carole; brother, Chris (Evie) Wolf; brother, Don (Virginia) Wolf, sisters-in-law Ingrid Wolf, Shirley Wolf & Arlene Wolf. He will be sadly missed by his step-children, Julie (Bill) Parsons, Shelly (Dean) Hunt, Scott (Donna) Westenberger, Amy Schmitz, & Jeff Westenberger; his grandchildren Trevor & Taylor Parsons, Abby Wollersheim, Kendra & Austin Schmitz & Lola Hunt; a very special friend Kelly “K.J.” Wolf and his wife, Jackie. He is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further preceded in death by his brothers Joe, John & Ken Wolf; Victor & Elsie Winkenwerder, Wilbur & Lorraine (Nussbaum) Winkenwerder & Leroy Winkenwerder. Funeral service will be 6 p.m.  Monday, July 5, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 3 until 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 5.

A special thank you to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital West, the Calumet County Hospice and Visiting Nurses, Fran Nelson, FNPC who assisted Sam with additional years of life, Scott Schuldes, APNP for his compassionate care and visits to the home, and all our wonderful friends who brought us so much love and support through the years. Honey, I can only thank you for always being there for me. You showed me unconditional love.  I hope the void in my life will be filled one day with all the wonderful memories we had together. Until we meet again, I’ll miss you dearly, my love for you is undying.
Love you, Carole
