Gunnery Sgt. Ronald J. Meyer, USMC retired, 74, Green Bay, passed away after a long battle with dementia on June 9, 2011, at a local nursing home. He was born on Oct. 3, 1936 in Chilton to the late Edwin and Colletta (Carroll) Meyer. Ronald attended St. Augustine Catholic School, Chilton, until his family moved to Milwaukee, where he finished his schooling before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the Marines, retiring as Gunnery Sergeant. He enjoyed gardening, jogging, polka music and playing the accordion. Time spent with his family and friends was important to Ronald. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor, kind heart and generosity. Interment was in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association. Ronald's family would like to thank the entire staff of Odd Fellow Home for their loving care and genuine concern for the past six years. |
