WILMER G. LEMKE

Wilmer G. Lemke, age 89, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Century Ridge in Chilton. He was born February 4, 1922, in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late Arthur & Anna (Papke) Lemke. He married Isabelle A. Leitner on May 25, 1944, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Charlestown; she preceded him in death on September 1, 2010. Wilmer had worked a short time at Brillion Iron Works before starting a career at Aluminum Specialty where he perfected the art of metal buffing. His skills became 'World Renowned' when he and Isabelle were flown to plants in Brazil and Mexico to teach others the importance and art of metal buffing. Wilmer was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton, the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and was a lifetime member of the Chilton Eagles Club. Wilmer's sense of humor and good-natured personality was what people loved about him; his social nature and love of cards kept Wilmer the life of the party throughout his entire life. He always looked forward to being with family and friends; whether he was dancing with Isabelle or taking the kids fishing, he treasured each and every moment of day to day life and daily thanked God for the gift of life. His children admired their father as he had learned to rely on faith and prayer to turn life's difficult situations into something to be learned from and create a positive outcome as life moved forward. Survivors include his children: David (Kathleen) Lemke of Mequon, Daniel Lemke of River Falls, WI, Susan (Frederic) Bliffert of Milwaukee, Cynthia (Jeff) Voyen of St. Paul, MN; 11 grandchildren: Kim Lemke, Paula Fruncek, Kristin (Rick) Vocovich, Mark (Ronalea) Lemke, Ben Lemke, Emily (Matthew) Michelin, Theresa (Michael) Helfer, Katherine Bliffert, Amelia (Aaron) Willey, Abram (Kristine) Voyen, Elyse Voyen; 8 great grandchildren along with two more arriving soon: Tyler, Tristan, Drake, Kalea, Elizabeth, Addison, Chloe, & Sydney; a brother: Merlin Lemke; and a sister: Gladys Koll. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Evangeline Sturtz, Jeanne Karl. Funeral service was held Monday, October 31, 2011, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Leona P. Rollmann
Leona P. Rollmann, age 94, of Chilton, died on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Rennes Health & Rehab Center in Appleton. She was born February 13, 1917 in the Town of Brothertown, daughter of the late Nicholas & Kathryn (Steiner) Muellenbach. She married Sylvester Rollmann on January 22, 1935 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg; 'Les' preceded her in death on May 6, 1987. Leona worked as a waitress at the Chilton Hotel, the Chilton Canning Company and Aluminum Specialty. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Sheepshead and belonged to many local card clubs. She loved gardening, needlework, and traveling with the Chilton Senior Center. Leona was very proud of being an active and involved member of her community and her church where she had volunteered countless hours to the betterment of both. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary's Parish where she had also been involved with the Christian Mothers having served two years as president; the Daughters of Isabella where she served two years as president, the church choir, and volunteered as a funeral ministry leader and volunteer. She belonged to the Calumet Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, was a Chilton Senior Center Meals on Wheels preparer and deliverer, was a reading volunteer for the Chilton Elementary School RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program), delivered Thanksgiving Day meals from the Dairy Queen and belonged to the Chilton Eagles Auxiliary. Leona was a hard worker throughout her entire life. She enjoyed traveling and found wonder in all that surrounded her. Her love of life and love of people's company never left Leona a stranger to someone for very long; she was forever making new friends, and new connections to the vast number of friends and family she already cherished. Leona was dedicated to her family and all that knew her will miss her witty personality, her joyous laugh, and the sparkle in her eye. Survivors include her children: Janice Crowley, Marlene (Bob) Wirth, Dick Rollmann, Kathleen (John) Beatty, Judy (James) Carmack, Lori (William) Wallschlaeger; 28 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren with another arriving soon; 4 great-great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Laura (Elmer) Muellenbach, and Marion (Alfred) Muellenbach. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; 3 children: Gerald (Lynn) Rollmann, Robert (Donna) Rollmann, Joanne Carew; a grandson: John Carmack; 6 brothers and sisters: Edward Muellenbach, Claude Muellenbach, Alfred Muellenbach, Lydia (Vince) Woelfel, Elmer Muellenbach, and 'Dixie' (Glen) Libke. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Leona's family would like to express appreciation for the wonderful care and friendships she experienced by the caring and loving staff and residents at Rennes Health Care, Renaissance Assisted Living, Century Ridge in Chilton, and Aseracare Hospice. The wonderful people in those facilities are angels on Earth!. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Leona P. Rollmann.

Louise Margaret Werner-Sohrweide
Louise Margaret Werner-Sohrweide, age 95, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. She was born September 11, 1916 in Racine, daughter of the late Adam & Sophia (Spencer) Miller. She married Harold Werner on May 28, 1938 in Appleton; he preceded her in death in 1946. She later married Arno Sohrweide on July 17, 1954 in Appleton; he preceded her in death in 1995. Louise graduated high school and following her graduation from beautician school, she worked in Appleton for 18 years. Upon her move from Appleton to Chilton, Louise ran the uptown beauty shop in the old hotel for 25 years. Louise never knew a stranger; all she met were treated as potential friends. Louise was very active in the community, having belonged to the Chilton Eagles Auxiliary where she had previously served as President and was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame. She had been a member of the Association of Handicapable, the Calumet Business and Professional Women Organization, was a past president of the Campfire Girls, was nominated Chilton Citizen of the Year in 1980, became Woman of the Year and served on the Roads to Freedom Board into her 91st year of life. She was a member of Ebenezer United Chuch of Christ and volunteered many years as treasurer of the Women's Guild. Louise garnered support from the community collecting enough Betty Crocker Labels to buy a bus for the New Hope Center in Chilton. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, embroidery, and playing cards whenever possible. Louise loved and took pride in her ever growing family. She leaves her family and friends with many memories. Some will cause tears and many will cause laughter. Survivors include her children: Suzanne (Werner) & Gary Wilburn, Eileen (Sohrweide) & Eugene Brantmeier, JoAnn (Sohrweide) & Robert Franzen; her 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchild; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dallas (Mary) Werner and Virginia Werner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a step mother; 2 husbands; 1 daughter; 2 grandsons, 1 niece, 4 brothers-in-law; and 5 sisters in law. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathryn Rust officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Memorials given in the name of Louise Margaret Werner-Sohrweide are appreciated for the Roads to Freedom or Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
