Kim Dees, age 56, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 11, 1955 in East Chicago, IN, daughter of Katheryn (Jansen) and the late Charles Fronek. On May 24, 1975, she was united in marriage to Jon C. Dees. dees

Kim is survived by her husband, Jon, her daughters, Rachel of Milwaukee, WI, and Cara of Nashville, TN, her mother, Katheryn of Crown Point, IN, her siblings, Lori (Herb) Sitter of Highland, IN, and Dan (Denise) Fronek of Crown Point, IN, her numerous neices and nephews, and her special friend, Erika Geiser.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandparents, Bernard and Anna Jansen, and paternal grandparents, Frank and Ruth Fronek.

Kim was a Certified Management Acountant. She spent her childhood in Northwestern Indiana and recieved her B.S. in Management from Purdue University in 1981. She began her career at Furst-McNess in Freeport, IL as a financial and tax analyst.

In 1985, Kim and Jon began Hilbert Veterinary Service, now High Cliff Veterinary Service, Inc., where she oversaw financial aspects of the business until her death. They were also the owners of Thorn Creek Stable, which breeds and trains show ponies and horses, producing several world and national champions. Kim was on the board of directors of the Central States Pony Association and was a member of the American Show Pony Registry committee of the American Shetland Pony Club. Her love of showing and training ponies began with her childhood best friend Bernard (Ben) Jansen, also known as "Gramps."

Kim was an active member of Covenant Church in Appleton, WI. She loved all animals, especially her ponies, dog, and even the mice in her cupboards.

She enjoyed traveling to visit her daughters, spending time with her great neices and nephews (whom she called "the greats") gardening and "garden walks," auctions, and decorating for Christmas. Meeting dear friends at horse and pony shows was always a special event. Kim loved building friendships wherever she went.

A funeral service for Kimberly Jo Dees was held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at Covenant Church, 1601 Covenant Lane, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in Kim's name.
