The Olympian Conference leading Roncalli Jets recently beat the Hilbert Wolves, by a score of 76-14. The Jets held Wolves scoreless for the entire first quarter of their game at Hilbert, leading 24-0 at quarters end. Roncalli continued to dominate as they allowed the Wolves to score just one point in the second stanza of the contest leading 38-1 at the half and coasting to a 76-14 victory. The Jets Ben Stelzer led all scorers on the night with 22, including four three-pointers. Also helping Roncalli to victory was Cole Ruether with 14 points, which included four three pointers, and six rebounds, Mike Gresl with nine points, Travis Klingeisen with eight points including two three-pointers, and Sam Miller with seven. Hilbert was led in scoring on the night by TJ Hemauer with four, Nate Duchow and Connor Nett each with three, Zach Propson with two, and Jared Krueger and Preston Schwalenberg both with one. The Wolves lost their game earlier in the week to Manitowoc Lutheran by a score of 52-34. Hilbert stuck with the Lancers through out most of the game, but Manitowoc's, Chad Peronto scored eight points of the Lancers 16 in the final stanza of the game to put the game out of reach. Manitowoc's Peronto led all-scorers on the night with 24 points, while Tyler Prochnow chipped in eight, and Mike DeCleene and Jordan Klein both added five. Hilbert was led in scoring in the game by Krueger and Schwalenberg who both scored eight. Hemauer added five, and Duchow and Jeremiah Kerstin chipped in four. Hilbert, who is still looking for their first victory of the season, is slated to next take on the Elkhart Lake Resorters on Monday January 18th at home, followed by a road game verses Mishicot on Thursday January 21st, and a home game against Reedsville on Saturday January 23rd. |
