| Bailey McAllister selected as Chilton Kiwanis Student of the Month for December 2009 |

The Kiwanis Club of Chilton has selected Bailey McAllister, daughter of Sean and Cheri McAllister of Chilton as the Student of the Month for December. Bailey has been a Gold Honor Roll Student all four years of High School. She has been a member of the Science Club every year and participated in the Science Olympics as a sophomore and as a senior, earning a third Place Award as a sophomore. She has also been member of the National Honor Society and the Math Team for the last two years. Bailey has been an active member of AFS all four years of school and is currently serving as president. She spent part of her junior year as an exchange student to New Zealand. There she participated in the International Club, Kapa Haka, CONNECT, the Pay It Forward Committee, and the Orchestra and Concert Bands. Bailey has been active in numerous school organizations and activities in Chilton as well. These include the Spring and Fall drama presentations, Tuesday Night Talks, and yearbook staff. She earned a Vocational Arts Award as a freshman. She has been a member of the band and has earned a band letter each year. She is now also a member of the Honors Band. In Solo-Ensemble competition, in class B she earned a second place as a freshman and a first place as a sophomore. In class A she has earned three first place awards. In state competition she earned a first place as a freshman and sophomore. In sports, she has participated and lettered in cross-country and also participated in the Lake-to-Lake Soccer league. Outside of school, Bailey is an active volunteer with numerous organizations. She has participated in the Community Play for two summers. She has been a volunteer for Respite Care, singing and visiting at nursing homes, a volunteer at the Humane Society, and a care giver for parent nights at school. She is an active member of Jesus & Company through her church and has been an Independent Girl Scout where she will soon receive the Gold Award. She has done bell ringing for the Salvation Army and helped in the building of Morrissey Park. She also does tutoring of younger students. In her free time, Bailey enjoys dancing, writing, music, crafts, and anything outdoors. After graduation she is considering continuing her education at Notre Dame, Marquette, or UW-Stevens Point. She plans to get a degree in elementary education with a major or minor in theater arts. |
