In conjunction with Catholic Schools Week, the students of Chilton Area Catholic School will be participating in the annual Knowledge-a-thon. The Knowledge-a-thon, coordinated by CACS third grade teacher Mrs. Lisa Fesing, consists of three events which test the students’ trivia knowledge. The first event is the 100 question Knowledge Bowl. Students will receive 100 grade appropriate questions to answer and are allowed to use all resources available to them, except, of course, for their classmates. The duration of this event is one week, at the end of which questions will be corrected and rewards given to the highest scoring students. The second event of the Knowledge-a-thon is a daily quiz, given from Monday through Thursday of Catholic Schools Week. At the start of each day, five questions will be placed on each classroom’s door. Any student which chooses to participate may do so by filling out a sheet of paper with their name, date, and answers to the five questions given for his or her grade level. Students must complete the questions by the end of the school day and give them to their teacher. Rewards will be given to those students that participate. The third event of the Knowledge-a-thon is the Trivia Bowl, which will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd. Grades one through six will be participating in this Trivial Pursuit-format game, with each respective grade providing one team. Catholic Schools Week kicks off on Sunday, January 31st, with CACS’s annual open house and spaghetti dinner. If you should have any questions about Catholic Schools Week or the events held in conjunction with it, please contact the CACS office. |
