Local students have a chance to learn more about developing their artistic talents on February 27. ART Attack!, an extra-curricular art club for students in grades 3-8 living within the Chilton Area School District (or attending Chilton schools), will be hosting their inaugural “Visiting Artist Session” – Saturday, February 27th at Chilton Middle School. This fun-filled day of art will include instruction from four professional artists in a variety of mediums and techniques. Courses in: clay sculpture, collage, wire sculpture, and found object / mixed media art, will be offered. Individual and collaborative pieces will be created in all sessions. Collaborative pieces created at this and other ART Attack! event(s), as well as artwork from professional artists, will be available for purchase at the ART Attack! Gala and Art Auction on April 24th, 2010 at The Engler Center for the Performing Arts. Registrations will be accepted through Saturday if space is available ($10 thru February 23rd - $15 February 24th-27th – see the website for registration forms and more info.) Registration for the “Visiting Artist Session” begins at 9:30 am Saturday morning – the day will end promptly at 3:00 pm. Students should “dress for mess”, bring an old t-shirt or art smock, and a “bag lunch” - all other supplies are included in the registration fee. Parent volunteers are welcome to attend.
