The students at St. Peter Lutheran School in Hilbert will be celebrating Lutheran Schools Week from March 7-12.

They will join other Lutheran schools from throughout the country to celebrate all of the wonderful things that are happening in our Lutheran schools.

The theme for our week is "Securing Each Child's Future - For a Life of Service". In keeping with this theme, the children are working on two projects.

First, they are gathering supplies for health kits, which will be sent to Lutheran WorId Relief. Second, they are beginning their annual Math-a-thon in order to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Lutheran schools depend on their local congregations for support. In order to thank our members for this support, the students will write thank you notes to the members, and the school will provide doughnuts for our Sunday morning social time.

Families are also an important part of our school, as grandparents and parents take active roles in our school activities all year long. Grandparents will join us for lunch, family pictures, and chapel on March 8th Parents and other family members will gather on March 11 for a family game night and ice cream sundaes provided by our Parent Teacher League.

A number of fun days are also being planned for the children throughout the week. These will include a pajama day, a "Be Colorful" day, and a field trip to see plays at Oshkosh West High School.

Lutheran schools are a great place for children to grow. They offer a quality faith-based education in a positive environment, as they provide students with a firm foundation for now and the future. For more information about St. Peter, please call 853-3851.
