| Former Chilton student earns veterinary degree |

Matthew Schaefer, of Chilton , was conferred the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine on Friday May 15, 2009 at the UW Kohl Center. A member of the Class of 2009, Dr. Schaefer was among the 23rd class of veterinary medical students to graduate from the School. The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine is the only veterinary school in Wisconsin, and one of only 28 veterinary schools nationwide. Only 80 students per year are admitted to the four-year professional degree program. Prior to being accepted to the veterinary medical degree program, Dr. Schaefer attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned as B.S. degree in dairy science. Dr. Schaefer, a 2000 graduate of Chilton High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and Connie Schaefer of Chilton, Wis. Upon graduation, Dr. Schaefer has accepted a position as a bovine veterinarian for Wittenberg Veterinary Clinic, S.c. in Wittenberg, Wisconsin. |
