The Brillion Lions girls basketball team defeated the Chilton Tigers on Friday December 11th by a score of 46-34.

Chilton threw a lot of different looks at the Lions in the match up and Brillion did a great job of adjusting to the changes and also used their pressure to force turn-overs, 18 of them to be exact, and create scoring opportunities.

The game was close, and Chilton led at the half time break 21-20, but Brillion came out of the break with increased intensity on both ends of the floor to take control of the game, outscoring the Tigers 18-5 in the third quarter.  The Lions also hit some clutch free throws down the stretch for the win.

Chilton's Kelynn Sporer led all scorers with 18.  Other stat leaders for the Tigers were:  Brittany Mirsberger with seven points, six rebounds, and one block, Michelle Piepenburg with three points and three rebounds, Emily Maurer with three points and seven rebounds, and Megan Fritz with three points.

Brillion was led to victory in the game by:  Alyssa Olp with 14 points, five rebounds, and seven assists, Kylie Moxley with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Shawna Levash with 10 points, and Tori Ruffing and Brooke Geiger both with four points.

The Lady Lions took on Wrightstown earlier in the week beating them convincingly by a score of 69-35.

Olp scored eight points in the first quarter of the game as they outscored the Tigers 18-4.  Olp finished the game with 15 points to lead all-scorers.  Tiffany Janke for the Lions was not far behind as she chipped in 14, while Tori Ruffing and Kylie Muehlbauer both scored seven points on the night, and Marcy Popp and Amanda Geiger both added six.

The Lions continued to overpower Wrightstown forcing 36 turnovers, and outscoring them in every quarter of the game, while shooting 59% from the field.

Brillion is slated to continue their season with a home double header against Hilbert on Tuesday December 15th and an away game verses Manitowoc Lutheran on Saturday December 19th, before the Christmas break.
