The Brillion Lions boys basketball team finished up their regular season play as they overpowered the visiting St. Mary Central Zephyrs by a score of 78-60.
The Lions really took control of this match up from the beginning. Brillion jumped out to a 22-12 lead after one quarter of play and increased their lead to 43-29 by the halftime break. The Lions domination continued in the third quarter as they outscored the Zephyrs 25-15 and then never really looked back. "We did a good job in the full court on both offense and defense to control this game. We continued our season trend with very balanced scoring again in this game." Stated Brillion head coach Pete Kittel. Stat leaders on the night for Brillion were: Blake Klessig and Jacob Hebbard both with 12 points, Brian Krueger with 11 points and five rebounds, Ryan Reinke with nine points and five rebounds, Trevor Krizenesky with nine points, Eric Kittel with eight points and five rebounds, Will Jensen with eight points and four rebounds, and Justin Zeamer with six points and three rebounds. The Lions will now head to the post season. They are set to take on Sevastopol at home in the first round of D-3 regional action on Tuesday March 2nd. |
