The Chilton Tigers girls basketball team picked up two more wins this week boosting their record to 15-6 overall and 12-5 in Olympian Conference play. Chilton first victory came against Mishicot on the road by a score of 52-23. In the game, the Tigers jumped out to an early 10-4 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back. They held the Indians to single digits in all four quarters of play with a stifling defense. Leading the way for Chilton was Michelle Pieperburg with 22, followed by Brittany Mirsberger with 12, Emily Maurer with eight, Kelynn Sporer with seven, and Megan Fritz with three. ![]() Chilton went on to pick up their second road win as they took on the Reedsville Panthers in Reedsville, defeating them by a score of 35-31. Reedsville, who put up 15 points in the first quarter and led Chilton at the halftime break, 22-20, was held to just nine second half points to come away on the night with a disappointing loss. In the low scoring match up, the Tigers only had four players score. Piepenburg lead the way for Chilton with 18 points, while Mirsberger added eight, Sporer chipped in seven, and Maurer had two. Chilton will finish up their regular season on Friday March 5th, as they host the St. Mary Central Zephyrs for their parents and senior night festivities. The Tigers will then head to the post season where they as a number one seed in division 2 earned a bye in the first round of regional play, but will take on the winner of the Two Rivers/Fox Valley Lutheran game on Thursday March 11th at home. |
