The Brillion Lions volleyball team is hopeful about their up and coming volleyball season. They are looking to be competitive and to have more success than they did last season.
The Lions are recovering from a tough season last year, where they finished with a 0-8 conference record and a 5-15 record overall. The team will once again be coached by Teri Kraus who is in her seventh year at the helm for the Lions. Brillion's team consists of five seniors including Emily Wyngaard, Brittany Miller, Jen Eickert, Marcy Popp, and Cassandra Bonick all of whom have one year of varsity experience. Five Juniors-Courtney Clavers, Kelly Rieder, Tiffany Hatton, Megan Bolt, and Tanyssa Behnke. One Sophmore-Taylor Fischer, and one freshman-Tori Lemke. "Overall we are inexperienced, but we work well together," stated coach Kraus. The Lions opened their season on August 23rd with a scrimmage at Freedom. They have also participated in the Koehler Invite and hosted a triangular with Rhinelander and Valders on Tuesday August 31st. Their first dual match with take place on Thursday September 2nd away, against non-conference rival Manawa, followed by their first conference match against St. Mary Central on Thursday September 7th. Best of luck to the Lions team for a season of success!!!
