Chilton/Valders/Brillion swimmers grab 6th place finish PDF Print E-mail

The Chilton/Valders/Brillion boy's swimming team earned a sixth place finish at the Sheboygan North Invite containing nine teams at the Sheboygan North High School on Jan. 7.

The team finished with 39 total points, falling behind the fifth place team of Green Bay United by eight points. Chilton/Valders/Brillion beat out the seventh place team of Two Rivers by 14 points.

The top team at the meet was the team from Manitowoc Lincoln, which finished with 74 points, ahead of Oshkosh West High School with 58 points.

The meet consisted of 10 different events. Members of the Chilton/Valders/Brillion team competed in eight of the 10 events.

The highest finish for the Chilton/Valders/Brillion team was a second place spot in the 200-yard butterfly relay. The team of Jordan Appel, Marcus Chausseé, Riley Friedrichs and Derek Mueller finished with a final time of one minute and 50.39 seconds, earning the team eight points.

The relay team fell to the team from Oshkosh West by less than one second.

Chilton/Valders/Brillion also tallied a third place finish in the 400-yard individual medley relay with a team made up of Chausseé, Zachary Siikarla, Appel and Mueller. The relay team finished just over two seconds behind the second place team from Manitowoc Lincoln, grabbing Chilton/Valders/Brillion seven more points.

To accompany the second and third place finishes, Chilton/Valders/Brillion added four fifth-place finishes on the day.

The 200-yard breaststroke relay team of Keaton Harel, Tyler Rudig, Mason Harel and Jared Kasten finished in fifth place with a time of 2:22.78.

Chausseé, Kasten, Mueller and Siikarla earned fifth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.91, less than one second behind the fourth place team from Oshkosh West.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jared Taylor, Ben Fischer, Siikarla and Friedrichs also took fifth place in 1:40.94.

The other fifth place finish came from the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Keaton Harel, Kasten, Fischer and Friedrichs.

The other finishing team for Chilton/Valders/Brillion was the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kasey Burg, Mason Harel, Ben Palmer and Taylor, which placed sixth.

The next meet for Chilton/Valders/Brillion will be Jan. 12 at home against Plymouth. On Jan. 14 the team will compete at the Manitowoc Lincoln Invite.
