The Chilton Tigers boys track team had a great sectional showing as they took 3rd place at their sectional meet in Two Rivers. Wautoma won the meet with 67 points, Notre Dame was second with 64, and Chilton was third with 51. Brillion placed eighth with 31 points. The Tigers had four individuals and two relay teams qualify for the state track and field meet which is set to take place in La Crosse on Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th. Alex Steiner earned the right to defend his 800m title by placing first at the sectional meet with a time of 1:59.16. Also qualifying for state as individuals were: Jordan Pethan who placed 3rd in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.33, Justin Juckem who was 2nd in the 100m dash with a time of 11.40, and Cody Kurscheidt in the 3200m run with a time of 9:54.16. The Tigers also qualified two relay team for state. The 3200m relay team of Brandon Marx, Kurscheidt, Tony Holzer, and Steiner with alternates of Jake Butkovich and Marcus Chaussee, and the 1600m relay team of Pethan, Juckem, Marx, and Steiner with alternates of Tyler See and Butkovich. Also helping Chilton to their third place finish at the sectional meet was: the 4x100m relay team of Travis Schwarz, Tony Van Den Elsen, Pethan, and Juckem who finished 5th just missing a state bid, and the 7th place finish of Juckem in the discus.
