In one last show of school spirit as Hilbert High School students, the graduating class of 2009 proudly cheered their high school cheer at graduation. Under the leadership of valedictorian Eric Breit’s grandfather, gave an “H”, an “I”, an “L”, a “B”, an “E”, an “R,” and a “T” before they were given their diplomas. During the ceremony, the Hilbert High Wind Ensemble, under direction of Shawn Postell, performed the processional “Pomp and Circumstance,” and the recessional, as well as a special selection during the ceremony. The vocal director Debra Seidl led the Hilbert High School Choir in the song “And Wherever You Go.” Before the students were presented their diplomas, the Class of 2009 presented a video tribute of their years and lives in school. This year, nine students graduated as members of the National Honor Soceity. Eric Breit was this year’s valedictorian and Katherine Halbach was the 2009 salutatorian for Hilber High School. Thirty-four students from Hilbert High School were part of the class of 2009 commencement. The class motto for this year was “Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you willnot see tomorrow.” |
